THE MOMENT WE ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR...

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 7, 2009, 2:14 PM
The RESULTS of the 18th century me -contest:

And the winner is...

Hiutale :iconhiutale:

Congratulations! :D
Your entry totally amazed us! Probably the best things in this one were the realisticality and accuracy of it. (Read Hiutale's description for further information!) We really appreciate that you took the role of poor peasant girl because, afterall, most of us all would have been not so wealthy. Your entry was also the most commented one of the entires which means quite a lot.

The second is
Sazuka :iconsazuka:

This was a very unique approach to the contest theme and your background story was very interesting.

The third is
FuchsiaG :iconfuchsiag:

In the first poll this entry received the highest number of votes. We simply think it's a wonderful and quite rococo-ish entry.

....

Unfortunately not all of you could be winners, but we didn't forget about you. Below we present the rest of the entries along with a little comment.

Congratulations GeneralVyse :icongeneralvyse: for recieving highest number of votes in the second poll! It was well deserved! We can see why so many people like your entry. Unfortunately you didn't not include a background history.

Veronika-von-H :iconveronika-von-h:
was the first entry we received. It is indeed a very intriguing entry with a somewhat provocative pose. Well done!
[link]

June85 :iconjune85: made a wonderful and dreamy entry with a touch of Disney.
[link]

Goldenspring :icongoldenspring: makes her own 18th century dresses that are very accurate! This in particular was very pretty and eyecatching. The lack of the background story was the only negative thing in this one. [link]

*Applause* to you radiumcorset :iconradiumcorset: for drawing such a pretty dress and the colors were lovely! :)

We loved your story, naomi-sakurai18 :iconnaomi-sakurai18:
It was a very compelling and intriguing story! And your drawing illustrated it well.
[link]

We realy liked your detailing Redpassion :iconredpassion: and your entry was simply stunning. Your entry was also one of the most voted deviantions in this contest! [link]

DeadLady :icondeadlady: made a wonderful drawing with a beautiful frame to go with it.
[link]

shortthing's :iconshortthing: entry was probably among the most unique ones using a style we've never seen before. It was overall a very happy drawing with beautifull, light colors that remeind us all of the rococo era!
[link]

EmmaRoseStrange's :iconemmarosestrange: entry tells the viewer a story, without having to read the actual description. Well done!
[link]

Katie-eitak's :iconkatie-eitak: entry was very interesting. One of our interpretations was that even though at first glance the girl in the drawing seems rich and highly privilieged, she is invisible to the masses and is expected to be a certain way which robs her of her right to be an individual.
[link]

Allamericangirl966 :iconallamericangirl966: told us a little bit about the life in 18th century Scotland. Thank you for this interesting info!
[link]

The girl in TheDauphine's :iconthedauphine: looks really smart and intelligent. We were sorry not to hear the story behind the drawing!
[link]

LadyMerandaBoggre :iconladymerandaboggre: gave us what we hade waited for, a totally amazing polonaise gown that is based on the later 18th century Swedish court wear! It's absolutely beautiful. The background story was also very interesting.
[link]

TRegnier2795's :icontregnier2795: entry along with GeneralVyse's were the only entries depicting male characters. This in particular was very interesting due to the fact it's a profile image. Well done!
[link]

Isiswardrobe :iconisiswardrobe: truly knows how to make beautiful clothing. The picture was also very naturall in a way. We would have loved to hear more about the lady, not only about the costume!
[link]

TheSwanMaideN :icontheswanmaiden: made an absolutely adorable entry with lovely framing.

Thank you all for participating! :)

I'm pleased to find this group! I'm hoping to study the British "Long Eighteenth Century" (Restoration - Regency Period). The transition from Enlightenment to Romantic has always fascinated me.

Speaking of which, is there a similar group for the Romantic/Regency Era? I'd be interested in joining that one, as well.
